Adequate levels of the cofactor nutrient vitamin B6 are necessary for proper Coenzyme Q10 synthesis and function in the body.

L-Carnitine acts as a key that opens the gate of energy flow into most cells. The role of L-Carnitine in fatty acid transfer across mitochondrial membranes to generate ATP has a major influence on the most dominant central energy pathway. It is in this pathway that L-Carnitine works directly with Coenzyme Q10 in producing ATP from fatty acids. In order for these fatty acids to be oxidized into ATP, they first must be transported across a mitochondrial membrane that does not allow easy entry into the mitochondria. The entry is accomplished by attachment of these fatty acids to L-Carnitine, which then can open the mitochondrial membrane to deposit the fatty acid into the mitochondria for oxidation. Vitamin C, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B3 are all necessary cofactors in L-Carnitine function.

Vitamin B3 is a water-soluble vitamin available in 2 predominant forms, Niacin and Niacinamide. They are both precursors of the coenzymes NAD and NADP. More than 200 different enzymes require these two coenzymes to accept or donate electrons for redox reactions. NAD functions primarily in the catabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins to produce energy.

Vitamin B6 and its coenzyme form, pyridoxal-5-phosphate (PLP), are critical to the function of more than 100 different enzyme systems involved in amino acid metabolism, the conversion of fats and carbohydrates to energy and utilization of stored energy sources. PLP functions as a coenzyme for glycogen phosphorylase, an enzyme that catalyzes the release of glycogen stored in muscles for energy. PLP also functions as a coenzyme in the function of heme for hemoglobin production and therefore is critical in oxygen transport. Vitamin B6 is 1/3 of the nutritional triad of Vitamins B6, B12 and Folic Acid responsible for controlling homocysteine levels in the blood. B6 works by converting homocysteine to the amino acid cysteine while B12 and Folic Acid convert homocysteine to methionine.

Vitamin B12, or cyanocobalamin, is a water-soluble vitamin needed in only microgram amounts. It is the largest and most complex of all vitamins. Consequently, it is also the most difficult to absorb. B12 absorption is primarily dependent upon the presence of intrinsic factor but can also be absorbed by passive diffusion. Taking B12 in a complex of nutrients designed to enhance nutrient absorption can have a tremendous effect on enhancing absorption and optimizing biological levels of B12. Vitamin B12 is also 1/3 of the nutritional triad responsible for neutralizing circulating homocysteine and converting it to the amino acid methionine. In this pathway, B12 works with Folic Acid in activating the enzyme methionine synthase, which neutralizes free blood homocysteine and converts it to methionine. Vitamin B12 is also an important coenzyme in the production of energy from fats and proteins through its role in the production of succinyl CoA. Succinyl CoA is also required for the synthesis of hemoglobin in blood.

Folic Acid is a water-soluble vitamin needed in only microgram amounts to be extremely effective. The coenzyme form of folic acid (along with Vitamin B12) is critical to the metabolism of both nucleic acids and amino acids in its action as a methyl donor. DNA and RNA synthesis is dependent on a folate coenzyme that leads to the synthesis of S-adenosylmethionine (SAM), which is a methyl donor in nucleic acid synthesis. In fetal development, adequate folate is critical because of its role in DNA and RNA synthesis. Deficiency of Folic Acid during pregnancy can lead to the neural tube defects anencephaly or spina bifida. Folic Acid is the final 1/3 of the nutritional triad of Vitamins B6, B12 and Folic Acid responsible for controlling blood homocysteine levels.

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that functions biologically as a reversible biologic reductant. As such, it provides reducing agents for a number of biochemical reactions, is essential as a cofactor in several biochemical reactions requiring a reduced metal ion and is a highly effective antioxidant that can be regenerated in vivo when oxidized. Vitamin C, even in small amounts, can protect vital molecules including proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and nucleic acids from the damaging free radicals produced during cellular metabolism, as well as through exposure to toxicants and environmental pollutants. Vitamin C effectively scavenges hydroxyl, peroxyl and superoxide radicals, as well as reactive peroxide, singlet oxygen and hypochlorite species. Vitamin C also protects against plasma lipid and  cholesterol peroxidation. High levels of Vitamin C in the eyes protect against photolytically generated free radicals as well.

Aloe Vera Gel contains over 75 nutrients and 200 active compounds, including 20 minerals, 18 amino acids, and 12 vitamins. Aloe is a member of the tree lily family and its ethnobotanical name is Aloe barbadensis. It is also known as "lily of the desert", the "plant of immortality", and the "medicine plant". Aloe is said to facilitate digestion, aid in blood and lymphatic circulation, and enhance kidney, liver, and gall bladder function. Aloe contains at least three anti-inflammatory fatty acids that are beneficial to the entire digestive system including the stomach, small intestine and colon. Stevia is a small green plant native to Paraguay. Stevia is also known as yerba dulce or "honey leaf". Stevia leaf extract is approximately 80 times sweeter than cane sugar and is used as a natural sweetener to improve the flavor of products it is mixed with. Steviosides and rebaudiosides are the principal constituents found in the leaves of the plant and, when combined with other herbs, enhance the nutritive value of those herbs. Studies have found the leaf to contain proteins, fibers, iron, phosphorus, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin A, vitamin C and essential oils. Scientific studies have shown that stevia effectively regulates blood sugar and brings it toward a normal balance. Stevia has also been shown to reduce cravings for sweets and fatty foods.
